Dr. Mary Beth Moenssen is a Wolverine through and through! She attended the University of Michigan, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology before beginning her dental and orthodontic training. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1995 from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she was elected President of her senior dental class. After graduating at the top of her class, she continued on at the University of Michigan to receive her Master of Science degree and certificate in orthodontics. In 1998, Dr. Moenssen opened the doors to Dexter Orthodontics in her husband’s hometown of Dexter, while also teaching at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Then, with her business partner Dr. Brandon Shoukri, in 2022, they expanded operations to acquire Ann Arbor Orthodontics.
Dr. Moenssen and her husband, Rob Marshke, have two beautiful boys, Ethan and Evan. One of Dr. Moenssen's greatest challenges, but also greatest gifts, is her older son Ethan, who lives with autism. She devotes much of her spare time to his treatment with a team of therapists, educators, and consultants. It is because of her journey with Ethan that Dr. Moenssen's understanding and compassion for those living with disabilities has grown. She is now sought out by many families to provide orthodontic treatment for their children with special needs.
Both Dr. Moenssen and Dr. Shoukri are very proud and active supporters of the Ann Arbor and surrounding communities. They continue to be proud sponsors for many charity events, festivals and fund raisers. Ardent supporters of schools, they continue to support many school sports, drama, publications, and many other initiatives.
