Our Ann Arbor office draws families from the townships around the city, and each one has its own drive, its own school districts, and its own character. This page covers five of them: Pittsfield, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Superior, and Saline Townships.
At Ann Arbor Orthodontics, you'll meet Dr. Mary Beth Moenssen and Dr. Brandon Shoukri at 2084 South Main Street in Ann Arbor. The drive times below are measured from the center of each township, so yours may be shorter or longer depending on your address.
Pittsfield Township sits just south of Ann Arbor, about 5 miles and 11 minutes from our office. From the middle of the township, follow State Street north toward Briarwood, then take Briarwood Circle to South Main Street. Three districts serve the township: Ann Arbor Public Schools in the north, Saline Area Schools in the south, and Milan Area Schools in the southeast, so your child's school depends on your address. The township's parks page counts 17 parks covering 1,017 acres, including Lillie Park at Haven Lake.
Ann Arbor Township lies north of the city, about 7 miles and 14 minutes from our office. Follow Whitmore Lake Road toward downtown, then continue south on Main Street (US-23 Business) to our office. Ann Arbor Public Schools serves the entire township, and the district posts its attendance boundaries online so you can see which schools your address feeds. The main campus of Washtenaw Community College sits in the township's southeastern corner.
Ypsilanti Township wraps around the city of Ypsilanti, about 11 miles and 15 minutes from our office. Head to I-94 west, exit at Ann Arbor-Saline Road, and continue to South Main Street. Ypsilanti Community Schools serves the northern part of the township, including the city, while Lincoln Consolidated Schools serves the area south of Ford Lake. Rawsonville Elementary School, part of Van Buren Public Schools, is also in the township. The township follows the Huron River and reaches both Ford Lake and Belleville Lake.
Superior Township lies northeast of Ann Arbor, about 13 miles and 20 minutes from our office. Take Prospect Road to Ford Road (M-153), follow M-14 west to Main Street, and head south to our office. According to the township's own Schools of Superior Township page, Ann Arbor Public Schools serves the north and west, Plymouth-Canton Community Schools the north and east, and Ypsilanti Community Schools the south. The only public school inside the township is South Pointe Scholars, a charter school.
Saline Township lies south and west of the city of Saline, about 12 miles and 20 minutes from our office. Follow Marion Road to Michigan Avenue (US-12), take Maple Road north, then Ann Arbor-Saline Road to South Main Street. Saline Area Schools serves the vast majority of the township, with very small corners served by Clinton Community Schools and Milan Area Schools. The township's website describes it as a small, agricultural township.
The American Association of Orthodontists suggests a first orthodontic check-up by age 7, and that timing is the same whichever township you call home. Some children are good candidates for Phase 1 Treatment while they're growing, others simply need regular check-ups, and teens and adults can compare Braces and Invisalign. Many families in these townships also choose private schools or homeschool, and the same timeline applies to them.
Your first visit is a complimentary consultation at our Ann Arbor office, with no obligation to begin treatment. We'll look at your child's teeth and bite, explain whether treatment is recommended, and share a cost estimate if it is. Because some townships are a longer drive, we'll also talk through how often appointments tend to be, so you can plan around school and work. The American Association of Orthodontists describes the usual appointment in its first appointment guide.
We often use 3D Scanning instead of impression trays, and Finance & Insurance is easy to review ahead of time. Ready to begin? Schedule a Consultation. You can also read How Much Does Orthodontic Treatment Cost in Ann Arbor? or Does Insurance Cover Orthodontic Treatment? first.
